As a Senior Full Stack Developer at Barclays, you'll play a pivotal role in the Agile-driven transformation of our Loan Trading and Agency applications. Your responsibilities will encompass adhering to and surpassing Barclays' standards, meeting project requirements, and contributing to the development, testing, and deployment of microservices using technologies such as Java, TypeScript, React, and AWS, all while ensuring resilience, security, and compliance with DevOps policies.

At Barclays, we offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement that combines the benefits of in-person collaboration at our physical offices with the convenience of remote work. Our approach involves colleagues spending designated "anchor" days onsite, typically for a minimum of two days a week, as determined by their business area or part-time working hours. Please note that as we continue to refine our hybrid working model, there may be adjustments made to working arrangements with reasonable notice to ensure alignment with our business needs.

What will be your primary responsibilities?

• Developing front-end and back-end applications following Agile practices, with a focus on cloud-based, microservices architecture.
• Collaborating closely with team members, both within and outside your team, including Operations and Infrastructure teams.
• Actively enhancing and advancing application development capabilities.
• Identifying and addressing risks and issues through effective control and compliance measures.
• Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and Barclays' policies and standards in all activities and duties.
• Utilizing various software and tools such as SQL, RDBMS/SQL Server, GIT, TeamCity/Jenkins, and Sonar.

What qualifications and experience are we seeking?

• In-depth experience in enterprise application development using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing interactive web-based user interfaces with JavaScript/TypeScript/CSS and React.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in software engineering or a related field.

Additional skills that would benefit you in this role:

• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architectures, and Integration Patterns.
• Working knowledge of Java JMS, Kafka/MQ, and Spring Cloud Stream.
• Understanding of AWS, Docker, and experience with container orchestration technologies.
